We are proud to announce Murray Harcourt’s Trainee Accountant Thomas Reid has placed third in the Young Accountant of the Year. The competition was established in 2000 and is run by Sharp Consultancy in conjunction with the West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants.

The Young Accountant of the Year annual awards recognise the accountancy talent in the Yorkshire region. They are open to those who are training to be qualified or have been qualified for up to two years. The results were announced on Friday 22nd February at the LCASS Annual Dinner held at the Royal Armouries.

Despite tough competition from firms such as KPMG, PwC, Deloitte and Ernst and Young, Thomas placed third. The judges also recognised that Thomas was the only one in the top 7 who was not qualified, which is a great achievement.

Thomas Reid comments, ‘It was a great honour to be nominated and I am very proud to have placed third – especially considering the quality of the other candidates. I am very grateful to the whole team at Murray Harcourt who has always been so supportive of me since I joined the graduate scheme in 2016.”

Managing Partner Richard Bright comments: ‘I am so proud of what Tom has achieved. To have one of our talented trainees place third for such a competitive award is a real testament to the quality of trainee we have here at Murray Harcourt. Tom has consistently proven himself as a valuable member of our team, and we are very fortunate to have him working with us.”
